Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund FAQs

1. What is the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund?
Coca‑Cola is thanking our consumers by launching a fund of €125,000 which will be used to support projects and initiatives that are having a positive impact on the quality of life of communities throughout the island of Ireland. This money will be granted to non-profit community, voluntary and charitable organisations throughout the island of Ireland to help support initiatives focused on the following areas: Social and Education programmes aimed at youth, Healthy and Active Lifestyles and Environmental Leadership.

2. How will the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund be allocated?
It will be distributed as 10 grants of €10,000 each and five grants of €5,000.

3. How and when can I apply?
The fund will be launched on the May 8th, 2011. All applications must be submitted online on www.coca-cola.ie from May 8th, 2011 up until midnight on June 30th, 2011. For further details on how to apply please click here.

4. How do I know my application was received?
Applicants will receive a written confirmation by email once their application is received.

5. Who will decide the allocation of the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund?
The closing date for applications to be submitted will be June 30th, 2011. After this date a judging panel consisting of Coca‑Cola, The Wheel and the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action NICVA will create a shortlist of 45 organisations which will be published on the www.coca-cola.ie website on September 1st, 2011. The public vote will account for 50 per cent of the final decision and a vote by an expert judging panel will account for the remaining 50 per cent. The vote by the expert judging panel will take place in tandem with the public vote and full details of the expert judging panel will be published prior to the commencement of the vote. The winners will be announced in October 2011.

6. What criteria is being used to select the winners?
Each applicant must complete an online application form. The judging process will be based on agreed criteria. These will include the potential impact of the proposed project on the community, organisation’s capacity to deliver the project, project’s innovative approach and quality of application.

7. What projects are eligible for the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund?
Entry is open to non-profit community, voluntary and charitable organisations (see our Terms & Conditions). The money will be granted to help support initiatives focused on the following areas: Social and Education programmes aimed at youth, Healthy and Active Lifestyles, and Environmental Leadership. 8. What types of initiatives will not be funded by the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund?
The Fund will not be used to support the following:

• Individuals
• Organisations that discriminate based on race, colour, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age or disability
• Religious endeavours
• Political, legislative or lobbying organisations
• Movie, film or television documentaries
• Concerts or other entertainment events
• Travel or organised field trips
• Schools
• Third party fund-raising activities
• Dangerous sports / high-risk venture clubs e.g. parachute and bungee jumping

9. Will the Coca‑Cola 125 Years Thank You Fund be ongoing or has it being set up on a short term basis?
It’s a one off fund set up to celebrate Coca‑Cola’s 125 Years anniversary celebrations.
