This year the Fund will support non-profit organisations with new ideas aimed at bridging the divide between education and the workplace, fostering diversity and inclusion in communities, and empowering young people to become the leaders of the future.
For the purposes of the Fund, young people are defined as those aged between 12 and 25 years of age.
What is this year’s theme?
The Fund will focus on one overall theme – ‘Working with communities in Ireland and Northern Ireland to inspire and support young people.’
Within this theme, the Fund is seeking applications which fall under one or more of the following three categories:
- Bridging the divide between education and the workplace
- Fostering diversity and inclusion among young people
- Empowering young people to become the leaders of the future
Through our work with the Fund we identified the need to support youth a couple of years ago and realigned the focus of the Fund to achieve this.
However the Fund is just one of our initiatives to empower youth in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company is rolling out a training programme called Youth Empowered in partnership with FIT (Fastrack to IT).
The programme, which is being rolled out this year, is designed to engage youth across the country and equip them with life skills which will ultimately empower them to unlock their potential to become the future leaders and change makers in the communities in which they live.
How will the Coca‑Cola Thank You Fund be allocated in 2017?
In 2017, the
The Fund’s application form encourages entrants to indicate which funding amount is most suitable for their project – €5,000, €10,000 or €30,000.
The judges will take this preference on board in their consultations but in some cases the funding awarded may be higher or lower than that requested.
How much is
Coca-Cola investing in youth development overall?
This year we’re increasing our overall investment in youth development across the island of Ireland. In addition to the €100k on offer through the Thank You Fund, we are investing in a newly designed Youth Empowerment programme, which will be rolled out by our bottling partners
As a company, we are committed to continuing to support young people, and we’re delighted to now have two specific programmes operating across the island of Ireland focused on this objective.
