Coca-Cola Ireland’s Thank You Fund winners, Leave No Trace, welcomed Minister for Rural & Community Development, Michael Ring, aboard one of their sailing vessels to receive their €10,000 award.

The community youth group were awarded the grant after teaming up with Safe Haven Ireland for their ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ programme, which aims to promote integration between communities in Ireland and empower young people at risk of social exclusion.

Leave No Trace were one of this year’s deserving community youth groups granted a share of €100,000 by our fund – which supports inspirational projects for young people.

Leave No Trace’s initiative encourages youths from a variety of backgrounds, including refugees and asylum seekers, to join together and take part in voyages along the Irish coastline on sail training vessels.

Worthy winners

The Mayo-based group received one of the larger €10,000 investments. The panel of judges recognised the organisation’s potential to have a sustainable impact on their community, describing the ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ programme as unique and compelling.

Since our Thank You Fund was launched in 2011 it has invested a total of €855k in community groups and non-profit organisations throughout Ireland.
